Back to Winter??

Where did spring go?? Today it only got up to 42º and we had snow showers off and on. We have a freeze warning for tonight. I set up my hummingbird feeder on Friday and have already seen one little hummer at it, all day Saturday. Hope he finds a nice warm place to stay tonight. This picture is of one of many black squirrels we have around here.

  2. Awww, wish we had black squirrels around here! They are so pretty (even if they are a nuisance). We have hummers here already. They showed up about 2 weeks ago and we put out the feeders for them too.

  4. Thanks Cindy! Yep, I'm in the Quad Cities. I put my up last Friday and saw hummers on it the next day. They have been at the feeder everyday now. I found this website where you can see where the hummers are arriving at. Here's the address http://www.hummingbirds.net/map.html

  5. i love that feeder!! i must admit i am not that fond of squirrels, they just seem like fluffy tailed rats to me, especially at you look at them very closely, very rat like. anyway...last week about 15-20 squirrels (grey, red, brown and black) just came out of the apple orchard and maple trees at the same time from many directions, it was like something out of a scifi movie. totally creeped me out and of course they were going for the black seed feeders. we got new poles this weekend, i dont think they will be able to climb...will have to wait and see.
