Halloween Felix Kitty and Pumpkin

I keep forgetting to tell everyone that when I reach 400 followers, I will be having a GIVEAWAY! woo hoo It will be my first one.

Ok just listed this sweet kitty with a pumpkin in my etsy shop tonight. I love his pointy tail! I usually don't do this, but I made one for myself too!! Been having fun making different size pumpkins too. So this is what I've been up to staying in my nice cool house while it's hot and humid outside.

Boy the cicada's are so darn loud tonight!! Later on when the cicada's go to sleep then the katydids start up. For some reason I like listening to them. Click on "katydids" link above to hear them. I've always been intersted in bugs every since I was a kid. I've passed it onto my 2 daughters who like bugs too.I guess I'm kind of strange that way.

Primitive Halloween Cats Gazing Moon Assemblage

Here's another idea that I've had stuck in my head for quite some time. Finished it up today and it will be in my etsy shop shortly! I took a wooden picture frame, painted and stained it to look really old and added my kitty couple gazing at the moon on halloween night. I almost want to keep this for myself but I won't. Well that's about it for now. Time to relax for the rest of the night.

Primitive Halloween Shadow Box

Here is something, that I think will cool you off and get you thinking about cooler temps. Today was a real scorcher!! 93º and a heat index of 109º. But...I'm not complaining, it's better then freezing to death. I hate being cold.

I've got something new! I'm so excited about this shadow box that I finished up today!! It sure was a fun one to make. I've had this idea in my head for quit some time and have a few more ideas swimming around. I will get this shadow box listed in my etsy shop in a few minutes! Stay tuned for more!

Busy Busy Bee

Wow...What a day! Worked on this new pumpkin guy today and have him finally finished! And...... Also have a pattern for him too! I'll list the finished pumpkin along with the pattern in my Etsy Shop tonight. I already have the pattern for sale at Pattern Mart with the link over on the right sidebar of my blog.

I've been at this computer for hours working on the pattern. What makes it a little more enjoyable is watching my little hummingbird feeder that is in the window that's right next to my computer. I'm about 2 feet away from the window. It's a little tiny feeder that's meant to put in your flower hanging baskets. I have it stuck on the outside of the window with a suction cup. The little hummers tummy look so soft that you could pet them. I know...I weird. LOL Oh and their tiny little feet are so cute!! LOL
Ok...time to get some supper! Everyone have a great Sunday evening!

Lazy Day of Bird Watching

Today was one of those days that I just felt like doing nothing. I'm starting to get sick of sitting inside locked up in a air conditioned house. We've had the house closed up for over a month now. I love having the windows open when the weather is cooler. Today was a cloudy day and a little on the humid side but I went outside and sat on the deck anyway. I was out there for quite awhile taking pictures the birds that come to my feeders.

Chick a dee dee dee

Mr. Cardinal, He was busy along with Mrs. Cardinal feeding baby chicks that were in the trees chirping away.

And a little hummer which I never get tired of watching!

And here is Mr. & Mrs. wren. She was in and out of the house with bugs to feed the babies while Mr. sat outside and sang away. Here is a fun fact that I just learned from the Birds and Blooms magazine that I get. Most female birds don't sing. But the female cardinal does. She mostly sings while on the nest.

Impatiens that I have out on my deck. Hummers like these too!

These are 2 of my newest coin purses that I finished up yesterday. They are now listed in my etsy shop!
This is the second cat one that I've made, the first one sold last week. Well that's about all for now. Need to get cracking on more Halloween stuff this week.

Happy 4th of July!

Well here it is, another July 4th. At least its not pouring down rain all day, like last year! It's just overcast with a chance of showers. No big events really for today just having daughter and boyfriend over later to do fireworks.

Took a few pictures of things growing in my yard today. I've got 2 tomatoes that I should pick in a day or two. And a cucumber that is almost ready to pick. It's getting pretty big. Not sure when I'm suppose to pick it. I've never been sucessful growing them until this year. I tried last year for the first time, with not one cucumber. So I'm pretty excitied! So if anyone knows let me know. It's about 7" long.

And I'm excitied about my green peppers too! I was only able to grow just 1 last year and it was huge too! So now I've got 5 little baby peppers growing nicely!

Yesterday I finally transplanted my succulents into their new hypertufa planters that I made in May. I absolutely love the way they turned out!!

And here are a few flowers that are showing there stuff right now. I just love using the macro setting on my camera!

Just for fun lately, for something different to do, I've been making these little coin purses. I recently posted these 2 bird ones in my etsy shop. I made them from vintage cutter tablecloths and old fabric and wool from the goodwill. Working on a penny rug one that I've taken scraps of wool from a cutter crazy quilt that I bought a couple of years ago. That quilt sure has come in handy for many projects over the years. I sure did get my moneys worth out of that thing! I will be listing it in my etsy shop tomorrow.
