I've actually "catnapped" a neighbor's cat for a few days when there have been baby birds or whatever trying to fly. Once they're up and going, the cat returns, completely taken care of and fully fed (cat food, not birds). :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03411258404667293080noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-147794804562158426.post-27166081789282423432009-06-06T18:48:04.263-05:002009-06-06T18:48:04.263-05:00Yes, that is sad. I know it's an instinct for the cat to do that, but it still makes me mad.Janet,https://www.blogger.com/profile/17796999156668844943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-147794804562158426.post-45500530078062317212009-06-05T14:25:09.338-05:002009-06-05T14:25:09.338-05:00Awwwwww - that is so so sad!! We live in an area that has cougar, bear, deer, wild turkeys, fox, raccoon, eagles and hawks. There are also some people in our area who might not be kind to animals. Those all could be a hazard to Misty. There are several cats in our neighborhood that visit our home. I've had to put chickenwire in my flowerpots to keep them from digging out my plants and flowers. I also had to put it down in my garden to keep them from using it as a kitty litter box.

I sure hope that your neighbors cat stays away from the bunnies. They are so cute!Shirleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13359036658575961464noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-147794804562158426.post-41679661024320108932009-06-04T20:08:31.448-05:002009-06-04T20:08:31.448-05:00oh no that is so sad. :(

(researched online and found out that it was old enough to be without it's mother or else I would not have let it go.) The cat disappeared a few months after we adopted it. He was brought into the shelter as a stray and drove us nuts inside until we finally let him outside. Darn cat would bring in dead mice too, yuck! In fact the baby bunny played dead and at first I thought it was a big dead rat.Jessicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03874960805023276599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-147794804562158426.post-91216374280702332472009-06-04T18:20:53.960-05:002009-06-04T18:20:53.960-05:00Awwwwwww... they are so cute!!! Now since I lost two cats to coyotes, I will not let mine out and I notice more birds and critters coming to play in the yard.

One year a rabbit made a nest right in the lawn and my son ran over them. Luckily only one got killed and we placed the rest in a new nest, nearby.

This year I did find a bunny that must have been chased and scared into our open shed. It ran into a plastic pipe and must have gotten stuck in it. Felt bad for the poor thing.

DebbieWoolenSailshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08621977477193550261noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-147794804562158426.post-82717027540825786952009-06-04T17:38:15.677-05:002009-06-04T17:38:15.677-05:00Hi Tammy,

People need to neuter and otherwise look out for their pets in general. I'm so glad you are looking out for the bunnies though. My heart goes out to them too. I sure want them to be safe from harm. Thank you for the being the good and caring person that you are. I am so allergic to them, so I sure shoo them away when I can.
