Ghosties!

I think I'm on a roll now. Really getting into the Halloween mode. Finished up these guys today and listed on ebay tonight.

Primitive Halloween Door Hanger

I hadn't made one of these door hangers since last year. It was fun putting one together again. Listed it on ebay last night. Really do enjoy making things for the fall season. It's my fav!

Little Black Bats

Got these cute little guys listed on ebay tonight!! I think they would make a great window or mantel decoration!

Flying Bats

I have another Halloween item ready to list on ebay tonight.

Hummingbirds!!!

If you love hummingbirds, you must see this video!! I have never seen so many hummingbirds in one place! This guy has a ton of feeders in his backyard. It looks like a swarm of flies instead of hummingbirds. I would be happy just to see 2 or 3 at my feeder. I can only get one at a time, that I see occasionally. :(

My Scared Black Cat

Just listed this on ebay tonight. I think it turned out pretty good! It was a fun one to make. I might make up a pattern for it if it does well.

Quack Quack

My daughter took these pictures and wanted to share them with everyone.

The hotel where she works had a momma mallard duck decide to make her nest in one of their big flower pots that are right at the entrance to the hotel.

She laid 10 eggs and only 5 of them hatched. The female mallard and her two boy friends would come up to the automatic sliding doors everyday and come into the lobby to get a snack from everyone that worked there. LOL

Momma and babies are gone now. I'm certain they waddled down to the Mississippi River which is close by.

I'm a Grandma!!

Today at 10:22 a.m. Cora Jade Hogan came into the world. She's my first grandbaby from my oldest daughter, and I couldn't be more happy!! She had a home birth and did wonderfully. I am so proud of her. Mom, baby and Dad are all doing good! Now I can go out and buy lots of pink baby clothes!!

My Helper

Today I was busy most of the day sewing some pumpkins, with a little help from Bonsai. While I was stuffing the pumpkins, Bonsai decided to take a little nap on my sewing machine. Just had to take a pic of him. He's such a sweetheart.

The other day a dove landed on the ledge just outside of the window, which caught Bonsai's eye. It was so funny he was pawing at the window and snorting because he couldn't get it. I couldn't believe that the dove didn't fly away. I'm sure the dove was teasing him.

Smile :)

Ok so I was in the etsy chat forum tonight and there was a thread where people were posting links to their blogs. So I clicked on a few and read them. Came across this one that had a YouTube video that I think is so cool. It will definitely put a smile on your face!
If you want to see it clearer, go to www.youtube.com and type in "Where the Hell is Matt?" in the search thingy and click "watch in high quality" right underneath the video.

Black Cat

So I finally think I am getting into the Halloween mode now. Here is a new Halloween item I made a couple of days ago. I just love the way the little pumpkin guys turned out! Kind of cute and scary. LOL I'm selling this right now on eBay. Yes....I said eBay. Thought I would give eBay another chance since Halloween has always been my best season for selling there. I'm working on making up a pattern for this kitty and should have it for sale on Pattern Mart,Ebay,Etsy and my website within the next couple of days.

Cactus Flower

I was so happy today to see my prickly pear cactus blooming.I think this is like the second time it has bloomed. The first time I missed seeing it because it just blooms for one day and then it dies. It's pretty amazing how this cactus makes it through the winter every year. It kind of shrivels up in the winter and comes back to life in the spring. It's starting to take over my garden. I think I may start cutting off pieces and giving them away.

OFG Summer Challenge

I belong to a great group on Etsy called Old Farmhouse Gathering. Last night we all posted our items we made for our summer challenge, which were all things patriotic. I can't believe all the talent we have in this group! Stop by and take a look at what this great group has to offer. Hurry on over, as this treasury will expire early on Friday morning. Pictured is my Americana Crow Make Do I made for the challenge.

What am I to Do?

So the last couple of days, I have been noticing that, something has been chomping on some of my flowers all around my yard. I am pretty sure its deer. I don't think rabbits can jump up and eat impatiens in a hanging basket that I have on a Shepard's hook. First it was my tulips that they ate all the flower buds off before they could bloom. Now they are eating my petunias and impatiens and all the way down to the dirt in the pots. Err. I've been living in the same house for 24 years and never have seen any deer until 2 years ago. And never had them eating my flowers until this year!!

So, today I am getting ready to go outside and I open my back door and there is one standing in my next door neighbors front yard and another right across the street. So they both walk down our driveway into our backyard nibbling along the way and disappear. Looks like its going to be a long summer trying to keep the deer from eating my flowers that I spent so much time and money on.
