What am I to Do?
So the last couple of days, I have been noticing that, something has been chomping on some of my flowers all around my yard. I am pretty sure its deer. I don't think rabbits can jump up and eat impatiens in a hanging basket that I have on a Shepard's hook. First it was my tulips that they ate all the flower buds off before they could bloom. Now they are eating my petunias and impatiens and all the way down to the dirt in the pots. Err. I've been living in the same house for 24 years and never have seen any deer until 2 years ago. And never had them eating my flowers until this year!!
So, today I am getting ready to go outside and I open my back door and there is one standing in my next door neighbors front yard and another right across the street. So they both walk down our driveway into our backyard nibbling along the way and disappear. Looks like its going to be a long summer trying to keep the deer from eating my flowers that I spent so much time and money on.
Hi Tammy. Lovely pictures of the deer....even though they are eating your flowers and such. Do you have a hair salon around that you could get some hair from? Deer will not come near your flower or vegtable gardens if you spread human hair around them.
ReplyDeleteWe have been having a little trouble with the deer also, they have eaten some of the new buds of a few things here and there in both the gardens. Not a big deal yet but if they keep it up we will have to put some hair around.
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by to say hello :)
Wow--brazen little guy! We have deer chomping away at our garden every year. They probably think we plant it for them!
ReplyDeleteAwww, what lil' sweetheart! But she's not so sweet while she's chompin' on your flowers.
ReplyDeleteYep, Doreen is right about the human hair.
We're havin' a problem with a lil' chipmunk eating all the birdseed. He has no fear and literally waits for me to fill the feeder. I swear I'll wake up tomorrow and see him sittin' at our kitchen table with a napkin tucked under his chin.
Your pictures are wonderful! I hope the hair trick works for you. :> )

Karin, I've been lucky, the deer haven't come back since I took that picture and my flowers are doing wonderfully!! Fingers crossed that they don't come back for another snack anytime soon.

Great news!! Maybe she has a fear of Paparazzi and will steer clear of your backyard! :> )
