Stepping Outside my Primitive Comfort Zone
Ok...Going to try something a little different then what I am used to making. I don't know exactly what you would call this style, maybe shabby chic? You tell me. I made these birds with vintage tablecloths. A while back, I had a special order from a lady that wanted me to make her 20 birds with fabric that she mailed to me. Some of the fabric was old vintage tablecloth fabric. I liked the look of the way the birds turned out. So I sought out some vintage tablecloths on ebay and made up these birds. Just trying something a little new to see what happens. I'm not going to leave my primitive world behind by no means. Let me know what you think. I tried using the plain white background like so many use on etsy. Do you think they would look better with the background that I always use, the rustic wood? Will be listing these birds on etsy tonight.
They are great!!! Yes, definitely shabby chic :)
ReplyDeleteLove them :)

I love the new birds ..I strictly am primitive too ..but I love all styles ..I think I would call these Vintage Shabby. and I think they would look great displayed on both backgrounds so those who like a bit more shabby style can see it on the white but the prim gals can see it their way ..because they really can go both directions !
ReplyDeleteyour Work is beautiful !
Blessings ..Sara
Whatever they are called - they are really pretty!!! The blue one is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! They could be classified as shabby chic, but also could be considered modern. Yes, yes, keep the white background. It is nice and crisp, with emphasis on your gorgeous birds. I would think that your new birds would sell very well!
ReplyDeleteI think that they look pretty cool! Shabby!
ReplyDeletePretty cute.
ReplyDeleteI like them Tammy! They do look nice with the white background.
ReplyDeleteI ADORE the birds. AAAAGGGGHHHH!!! So great.
ReplyDeleteI think they are beautiful. Love how you cut the fabrics and used them, the way you did. I think with some walnut spray they would look like antiques, so you could do them both ways.

ReplyDeleteI love the one done in blue...it reminds me of Blue Willow China. Of course, red is my favorite color so I would have a hard time choosing between the two.
