I Really Should Be......

Really should be working on Halloween and Christmas goodies for the up coming fall/winter season. So hard for me to do when it's 90ยบ outside. I get so caught up with photographing everything outside, like flowers and wildlife that I normally don't get to do in the winter. And I love just playing in my gardens, pulling weeds transplanting plants, watering. You know all that stuff that goes along with caring for a garden. I hate being indoors in the summer, even if it's hot out!!

And I love, each Summer watching the baby deer grow up right before my eyes. I see Mommy and baby practically everyday now. She drops baby off at my next door neighbors backyard in the ferns and leaves for the morning. She usually comes back in the afternoon to pick her up. Baby is now old enough to venture out in the backyard on her own while mom is away. I captured an awesome shot of her today while mom was away.

I think I may print out this photo for myself and frame it!!!

I've been playing around with my camera a lot the last month, capturing very cool images and turning them into IPhone cases. I've just started listing them in my Red Oak Images Etsy Shop. Click HERE to check out my new designs!!

Here's a few of what I have to offer!

This one is a vintage camera that I own.

I have this one, the Blue Ball Jar case for my iphone and just love it!!!!

From a wooden bench my hubby uses for a foot stool

A Baltimore Oriole photo that I took this Spring

This is an old Elm Tree stump that is on our property. Very cool I think!

Like some rust? This was taken inside of a huge tractor rim that my neighbor has.

And my fawn that I get to see everyday!!!

These cases are available in IPhone 4, IPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy 4

Cool Summer!

I'm just loving the weather we've been getting lately. Hard to believe that it's July and only highs in the 70's! Perfect I say!! And mother nature is giving us rain when it just starts to dry out. That helps me with my daily watering of all my flower gardens! Gives me more time to sew and take photos!

Captured this shot of a rainbow on Saturday. It was a crazy weather day. It would pour down rain for a little bit and then the sun would come out. Did that all day. I think there had to be at least 4 or 5 rainbows that day.

Several months ago I had a couple of people interested in this pillow that I made with one of my photos. You can now purchase it by clicking Here  You can get the pillow in 16", 18" and 20" with or with out a pillow insert. Very reasonable prices!

Also I've been working on some really cool vintage iphone cases that you can get at the same website.

I also have a couple new bird scrappy birds in my etsy shop!

Another Flock of Primitive Textile Birdies!

Just finished up another flock of my new birds! They are in my Etsy Shop waiting to fly to their new home!

You can see all of them by clicking on this link >>> Rock River Stitches

The weather is certainly feeling like Summer around here lately (finally). Flowers are doing wonderful especially after the 3 1/2" of rain yesterday. I lost count on the many thunderstorms that passed through. Every time I got ready to go to the grocery store another storm was coming! So I put that shopping trip off till today.

Gerbera Daisy just opening up!
The American Goldfinch birds love these flowers just a much as I do! I'm having a problem keeping them off the flowers. They like to pluck the petals off to get to the seeds from the center. They do the same thing to my Zinnia's. grrrrrr I would like to enjoy my daisies a little bit longer before the birds get to them.

*New* Primitive Scrappy Birds!

Look what just flew in! These birds are a new design for me! They have the most cutest rusty wire legs, I think. They all are for sale right now in my Etsy Shop

In other news, I saw the mama deer and baby that I saw a couple of weeks ago in my neighbors backyard. Little one sure has grown fast since I last saw it.

And look who landed on my deck railing the other day! It's a young male cardinal just getting his bright red feathers and black mask around his beak and eyes.

Making this short for today. Will be listing more of my new primitive birds in the future posts.

Primitive Squirrels!

I've finally gotten some time to sew after getting my flower garden in! I have a few new items newly listed in my etsy shop!

These sweet primitive squirrels can be seen here --->Rock River Stitches etsy shop
I just had to make one squirrel black like what we have around here. They are my favorites!

And another new item!!! I just love making these big crows!!

You can see this guy in my etsy shop too!

Almost forgot another new item I made last week!

If you are a follower of my blog, you know that I live in a residential area that has a over population of deer. A couple of weeks ago saw a Momma and baby walking through my backyard. The baby had to be no more then a couple of days old.

I had to hurry and get the shot as they were walking fast! Excuse the blur of one of my flower pots on the left of the photo.

Mom was walking pretty fast and this little one was having a hard time keeping up! It laid down one time in my neighbors front yard before crossing the street. I held my breathe as the little one crossed the street over to mom who was quite a ways ahead of it.

And the birds have been busy in my yard raising families!

Wishing everyone a Happy Weekend!!

Love for Gerbera Daisies!

I must confess, I'm obsessed with Gerbera Daisies!! They come in so many colors! I have four different colors this year. Here are couple photos I took this past weekend!

Got a ton of work done in the yard this weekend! Just can't believe how fast weeds grow!! Was feeling a little stiff on Sunday morning.

I've join a art website where you can purchase my photos in different sizes and styles!! It's called Fine Art America. <<<< Click on that link to go to my selling page. I also have a link over on my right hand sidebar of my blog that will take you there. If you are interested in a photo that you don't see listed there that I've posted here on my blog, let me know and I'll see about getting  it listed at Fine Art America.

Oh and have a couple more coin purses finished and listed in my etsy shop! These I made the smaller size and with a Script cotton print for the outside.

Love the way they turned out!!

New Design!

Been so busy with this warm weather, planting flowers and sewing. I've added a couple of new coin purses to my etsy shop. They are just a tad smaller then what I was making before. Here are two that I just put in my etsy shop last night.

Click here, Rock River Stitches to go to my shop!

In other news I was lucky enough to have Baltimore Orioles come to my feeders! Hummingbird feeders to be exact! I did go out and buy a oriole feeder but haven't seen them on it yet. I don't know if they have passed me by now. I did have them for about a week. Here are a few photos that I captured.

The above photos are of the male oriole. Isn't he just gorgeous!!

And these below pics are of the female who arrived a few days after the male did. She is so pretty too, I think.

And I was lucky enough to capture more pics of the Rose-breasted grosbeak family!!

Male Rose-breasted Grosbeak

Female Rose-breasted Grosbeak in the rain eating corn. If you looks close you can see the raindrops on her head

Here you can see how big these birds are compared to others. The smaller bird is a white crowned sparrow. They are a little smaller then a normal size sparrow.

Mr. Rose-breasted Grosbeak posing for me!!

And finally got a couple's photo. Let me introduce you to Mr. and Mrs. Rose-breasted Grosbeak!!

And yesterday I got the most cutest photo!!!
This little chipmunk was helping himself to grape jelly that I had set out for the orioles!!
