Fall Crow Fall Color!

We have been getting the most gorgeous weather!!! And the leaves are just starting to turn. I heard on our local news the other day that the fall foliage in our area will be spectacular this year because of the hot dry summer we had and a week earlier too!

First off in business. I just wanted my blogging friends to know that I have one of my crow make do's on ebaY  and he will be ending tomorrow night!!! So get your bids in! I think I am coming to a close on creating my Halloween items. Time to get busy on Christmas....very soon!

Here is my Primitive Crow Make Do

Today my daughter, decided to take a break from her Chiropractic studies to venture on a hike with me to Black Hawk State Park! I love that this beautiful park, which is just 5 minutes away from my home. It has some of the most beautiful tallest oak trees in our town.

These are just a few of the trees that are showing color. The best is yet to come in the coming weeks.

There were many of these bat houses on the trees.

I bet some kind of little furry critter has spent a night in this log. Looks like a nice place to bed down for the night.

My daughter checking out the dry creek bed. Hardly any water to speak of in all the creeks.

My daughter with one of her many humorous faces! We had fun! I also got to see my very first Pileated Woodpecker! I didn't get a picture of him as I was too slow with changing the lens on my camera! Darn! But at least I can now say that I have seen one! And we also saw one deer running through the woods. He was to fast to get a shot of.

There was a part of the park where they had planted a whole area of native wildflowers. This Goldenrod was so bright!

And as you walked through the paths of the wildflowers, grasshoppers were jumping left and right. I used to love to catch these guys when I was a kid.

These are mums that grew all summer in my garden. They are my favorite color of all the mums that I have.

And my hydrangea blossoms have changed colors right along with the trees! Amazing!

In other news....I have a few new primitive photo pendants available in my Red Oak Images Etsy shop!

My friend Judith in Vermont has started carrying a few of my primitive photo pendants in her primitive shop! I'm so excited! I've been a busy bee lately!

Well that's all my news for this Saturday! Have a wonderful evening!

Primitive Harvest Pumpkin Gathering

After going through all my Fall Halloween decorations, I've decided I have way to many pumpkins and think I should sell some of them. So I listed a small gathering of pumpkins on ebay which I haven't done in about 6 months.

If you would like to check them out here is the link-->EBAY I plan to get a few other things listed on there too in the coming days and weeks.

It has sure been feeling like fall around here, acorns and some leaves are beginning to fall. And I always see more ladybugs in my garden. I captured a shot of this one the other day with my iphone and my olloclip macro attachment. Isn't it beautiful! It almost looks like it has been antiqued! LOL Things looks so much different when you see them up close!

About a half hour ago I saw this hawk fly up into one of our trees in our front yard! I had the perfect view from my upstairs bedroom window! I believe this is a red-tailed hawk.

Just Gorgeous don't ya think!!!

This will be a short post as I need to finish up several orders! Have a wonderful Sunday evening!

Red Barn Sale Today!

I missed the Primitive Red Barn Sale last month because daughter and family were here and forgot all about it. But made it today. I picked up a few things.

I know it's not a whole lot. But I needed more of those spindles to make more of my big crow make do's. The bobbins will be used for make do's as well. And I fell in love with the little red chair. Will be great for my prim dolls to sit on. The rusty sad iron is for my sister in law who loves to paint them.

Those metal tins with the flowers in them I bought at the Red Barn Sale back in June. They are working out great for my moss rose and wave petunia's.

The little picnic table, my hubby made for my girls when they were little, about 25 years ago. I will never get rid of that. Now my grandchildren sit at it.

Vicky and Tim from Red Barn Primitives have started a page on Facebook. Be sure to Like them and follow their updates.

They have a sale once a month on a Saturday towards the end of the month. It runs, I believe April through October. Here is the ad in the newspaper for today's sale. You will be in Primitive heaven when you visit their sale!!

The Holidays are Upon Us!

Yes....Before you know it, it will be Halloween! The days and weeks just speed by. I've been busy making pumpkins and snowmen. I've had several requests for snowmen already! Also pattern sales are booming! It always does the end of July and August. My best months for patterns.

I listed these primitive pumpkins last week in my Etsy Shop. Always love making these with a pattern by Vicki Bilek of Tickled Primitive.

And I have this sweet little Primitive Napping Kitty Pincushion newly listed in my etsy shop as well, which is my own original pattern.

Then in my other Etsy Shop, Red Oak Images I have a new line of earrings made with my photo art!

And here are a few of my primitive pendants in my shop.

Here are few of my newest photos! Enjoy!

Sunflowers

Yesterday captured these adorable black squirrels playing under the oak tree! They seemed to freeze when they saw me! LOL

And finally got a shot of a hummer on the Canna's!

The other morning when I was taking pictures of the hummingbirds, this little chickadee decided to take a little morning nap. It' stayed like that for about 5 minutes. You can see it's little black head tucked under it's wing. Never seen anything like this before.

Sweet little male hummer

Sweet dove sunny herself. Love!

OK...that's it for now. Everyone have a wonderful Sunday!
