Fall is starting to Show

Hello my friends! Super super busy, I have been! Pumpkins, Black Cats, Bats and Crows have been part of my working days.

I've been having a great time creating these Pumpkins. It seems the grey blue pumpkins are very popular again this year!

The Pumpkin in the front has sold, but I still have the blue grey one in the back still available in my etsy shop here Rock River Stitches

I always make a few of my Big Ole Crow Make Do this time of the year!

And this Angel Kitty is sure to make you smile. She is available in my Etsy as well.

My Hummingbird feeders are very busy this time of the year! They are filling up for the big trip south for the winter. Here is a juvenile male sitting in a branch by the feeder.

Hope everyone is have wonderful cool temps like us.

I must get back to working on a few orders now. So until next time! Peace and Love to All!

Primitive Halloween Goodness!

Hello my friends! I've been oh so busy lately! August is always crazy with the beginning of Halloween shopping and creating!

I do have a perfectly prim Halloween Cat Doll for sale on ebay. The auction ends tonight for her.
She is 21" tall and made of stained and painted osnaburg fabric. Her dress fabric, I hand made with little stars and bats.

Stop by my ebay if you are so inclinded!

Over on my Etsy Shop,  I have a new pattern!!

I've been selling out of the banners as fast as I can make them! Should have two more banners available by the end of today! Hopefully!

And I just have to show you the most precious fawns we have had in our yard lately!

Love seeing these little cuties every summer! They are attracted to the apple trees in my neighbors backyard. There are tons of apples that fall to the ground. So it's like a banquet for them!

That's all for now. Need to get back to work on those banners if I want to get them listed!

DIY Bee Hotel

I've been searching for a great diy tutorial that I could do and share with all my blogging friends. I found one that means a great deal to me. I'm all about saving the Bee's and Butterflies.

Each year I raise Monarch butterflies. Now I'm going to give a try and help the bee's a little more, besides having lots of flowers for them to love.

Did you know that the bee's are now are dealing with something called CCD or Colony Collapse Disorder? It's when the worker bee's leave their hive and the queen, to fend for themselves. In the last five years the bee population has been slashed in half. So this means fewer pollinators for fruits and vegetables, which means limited crop yields. In turn, driving up the demand and food prices for all.

So how about helping out these wonderful insects that help put food on the table for us!

I found this tutorial on another blog at 2Paws Designs

Here is how I made my Bee House. This is for solitary bee's not honey bee's.

Supplies List
  • Brown Wrapping Paper or Paper bag
  • utility knife
  • scissors
  • 8 oz. plastic bottle
  • twine
  • ruler
  • pencil
Rinse out your drink bottle and dry. Cut the top off with utility knife or scissors.

I had a roll of brown wrapping paper so I used that instead of brown paper bags which I did not have.

I cut stripes of paper that were about 5.5" long. I rolled onto a pencil a couple times around to make a tube.

I had a little help from my cat Bonsai! hehe You know how cats love to help!

When I had the bottle filled up, poked a couple holes with scissor point and threaded the twine through. Hung mine in one of my burning bushes. Will see what happens!!

I finally have all my flowers planted in my yard. Did not plant as many in pots this year as I usually do. Saving a little money this year as we are doing a huge remodel right now on our kitchen and bath. The demo is finished. And the electrical, plumbing and dry wall is up. Just waiting now on cabinets, counters, tub and toilet to come in.

So here are a couple pretty flowers from my yard!

Can't believe how well my Clematis is doing this year! I never have this much luck with them! Must be the very rainy spring we had.

And my fav flower, Gerbera Daisy!

Thinking of new sewing projects! So stay tuned!

Peace and Love to All!

Will I Survive a Remodel!?

This Tuesday is Demo day for our kitchen! I'm a little uneasy. My whole kitchen will be gutted on this 75-year-old home. It is in dire need of everything! We are keeping the stove and refrigerator. So I think I will be cooking all meals in the basement in a microwave and on an electric skillet. Should be very interesting to wash dishes! Not sure where that is going to happen? Will be an adventure, as my husband says. We are also doing the bathroom. Eeks! Eating out a lot is in our future.

The style of my kitchen will basically be Farmhouse. So I've printed up a few of my photos for part of the decor. I am also selling these framed photos in my Etsy shop! Frames are made from repurposed wood. Very rustic!

I will be getting back to my sewing. I have a couple of my Primitive Napping Kitty Pincushions almost finished.

Here is the Pattern I sell if you are interested in creating one for yourself!

Oh and almost forgot to tell you have this sweet Primitive Angel Kitty available in my Etsy Shop. Rock River Stitches

Pattern is available for this sweet kitty in my Etsy!

Happy first day Spring Pattern Sale!!

Been some time since I've run a pattern sale. So what better time to have one, with the first day of Spring coming up on Monday! Sale runs now through Monday!
Directions are in the listing on how to buy one get one free.

Also check out my New Runaway Bunny Make Do!

And a couple more punch needle hearts. Had to take a break from making these. I think I over did it with the constant punching. Was using muscles in my upper back that I never use before. Chiro adjustment helped that.

We are seeing signs of spring in our yard! yippee!

This was a couple weeks ago

And this was early this past week! It's all melted now. Only received 4" of snow from the big snow maker that just went through. Hope it's the last until November!

This is a sure sign of Spring! American Goldfinch is getting his yellow feathers!

Ok folks that it for now!

Until next time!
