April Showers in March
Hello, my friends! I hope you are doing well with this virus that is so out of control. Staying home hasn't bothered me one bit. I'm a bit of a homebody anyway. Just keeping busy with new and old projects!
One of the new is this Primitive Chickadee Bird!
And I have a brand new Pattern too for this sweet bird, as well!
We had terrible thunder storms pass through here last night and dumped 4" of rain! Needless to say....our basement is flooded. Expecting another storm later this afternoon with possible tornadoes. When it rains...it pours!
Thanks for stopping by and wishing you all stay healthy. Bless You my friends.

New In My Etsy!
Hello my blogger friends! Anyone out there? I find less and less people read or post on blogs anymore. What do you think? I can't stop posting as I feel I would let some faithful friends down with my updates.
Anyway...Back when I first starting creating Primitive creations, I think around 2006, I kept probably way too many creations. I'm not sure this style of home decor is my thing anymore. So I've decided to let go some that I couldn't let go when I created them. I will slowly be adding them to my etsy shop.
The little Bunny was the very first rabbit doll I made, that lead to making a pattern for her, which I enlarged her size for the pattern. The Twig Chair is also included with her. I found that little gem at a thrift store.
The cute bear was made with a pattern by Sweet Meadows Farm. I believe it was the only one I made and then I kept it for myself.
So if you are interested in these cuties, they can be found in my etsy shop here---->

Ready for Spring!
I know...We still have many more weeks of Winter according to that ground hog. We are having a very snowy week so far. And more snow for Friday and Saturday! Most we have had all winter.
So I will just be happy with what ever weather we get. I do get some amazing photos in snowy weather though.
Here are a few sweet birdies that I recently made. Trying to get into Spring Mode!
The top left lighter colored bird has been sold. The other three are waiting for their forever homes :) They can be found in my etsy shop at Rock River Stitches
I like to feed the Squirrels and Bluejays year round with peanuts in the shell. I'm always amazed at the Bluejays colors!
Isn't he just gorgeous! I can always hear them up in the trees when they are close by waiting for their peanut breakfast. A very loud bird, indeed!
Have a wonderful day!!

New Primitive Goods!
Oh how I have been busy!! Between taking care of my flower gardens and sewing! The time is really flying by!
Here are my latest creations!
It's that time of the year again! Time to get started on Halloween Creations!
This Prim Pumpkin Bat Door Doll is now available in my etsy shop here Rock River Stitches
And....Yes! I do have a pattern for it as well!
I love turning some of my creations into angels. I do believe in them! This sweetheart is available in my etsy shop too!
Lately I've been having fun taking sunset photos! I'm so fortunate to live by the mighty Mississippi River. So what better place to take sunset photos, than by the river!
Be sure to follow me on Instagram! I do a lot of photo posts of the creations I make and their process. And I've gotten into making video stories too!
Time to get back to sewing! I have Halloween ideas floating in my head!
Peace and Love to All!

For the Bird Lovers!
This post seems to be all about birds today! A few new items now available in my Etsy!
Having a great time making these boxes! With each one I have a hard time letting them go. Now available in my etsy Rock River Stitches
And here we have a woolie heart hanging on a square nail hammered into a piece of aged wood. Can stand on it's own among your primitive collections or hang on a wall. Hanger is on the back.
Won't be long and these little jewels will be at our feeders! I expect to see mine somewhere around the last week of April, first week of May.
Here is a very cool migration map you can follow to see where they are right now!
Click here to go to the map ----> 2016 Spring Migration Map
And still on the subject of birds.... How about some Bald Eagle watching! I love to watch them this time of the year when they are nesting.
This is my favorite one which is a few hours drive from where I live. It's in Decorah Iowa.
Click this to go to the webcam ----> Decorah Eagles They have amazing video cams for these eagles! It's almost like you are right there in the nest.
Here are a few photos I captured a screen shot from my computer.
Look at the little eaglet looking up at Mom!
These two are getting ready for some breakfast! 3 eggs were laid but the last egg may not hatch. It's very common for this to happen.
Ok I hope you enjoyed all I had to offer today! Have a wonderful weekend!
Peace and Love to all!

My Work Space
So I thought I would do a little sharing with all my blogging friends. Here is where I spend quite a bit of my time when creating and on my computer. You can't really see from the glare, I have 3 bird feeders attached to the windows, so I can watch my feathered friends while I work.
Below is the other side of my room. I took this photo a couple of years ago when Etsy wanted to see my work space when I was a featured artist.
That's Luna there hanging out with me. All three of my kitties love to watch the birds out my window. Actually scare them away once they get in the feeders. :)
So here are a few items I just finished and now listed in my etsy shop which you can visit by clicking on this link -----> Rock River Stitches
Both of these boxes are a pretty good size to store all your sewing supplies or your most valuable treasures if you are not into sewing.
So until next time...Peace and Love to All!

Primitive Wool Applique Sewing Box
Lately I've been enjoying the creative process of wool applique as you can see from my last post. It's been awhile since I've worked with wool in making my wool applique coin purses which I dearly loved making.
I've had several different size paper mache boxes in my stash for years and thought it was time to use them.
Here is a second sewing box that I recently added to my etsy shop. First one I made sold the same day I added it to my etsy shop.
My Etsy Shop here----> Rock River Stitches
Took a little walk around my yard today to see what is sprouting. I'm ready to see my hummingbirds in this viburnum bush we have at the side of the house. I have one male hummer who loves to sit here and chase off the other hummers from the feeder I have next to this bush. The buds you see will turn into the most fragrant white blossoms you ever smelled. So ready!
I noticed the other day there was a squirrel living in this nest in our tree. The nest has been there for a couple of years and never thought anyone lived there.
She came out and stretched and went back in.
I believe it's a female and may be having babies soon. She is very plump. I have a birds eye view of this nest when I am sitting at my computer. So maybe I might be able to watch some babies grow up right from the comfort of my computer chair! I'll post photos if I see anything.
