Never Enough Hours in a Day

Sometimes I think I have have to many projects going at the same time, but I love it! I have so many ideas on what project to do next that I think I better start writing this stuff down. So this is why I feel there are never enough hours in a day to do everything I want to do.

I did take some relaxation time this evening, sitting out on our deck. It seems every time I sit out there I find some wildlife to capture a shot of. I was watching this little baby bunny hop around my neighbors backyard. He had to be no more then 6" long. Pretty soon it was in our yard. It ran up close to the side of our house where the grass doesn't grow and rolled around in the dirt taking a dirt bath. It was so cute!
Awww wildlife
Last evening a deer strolled into the very same neighbors back yard where he has all his bird feeders and chewed up his thistle feeder sock right before my eyes. In one minute it was all gone! I did take a picture but they didn't turn out very well.

I'm so glad to have all my flowers planted and also glad that we finally got a good amount of rain on Monday evening. It helps to not have to water everyday! Here's a shot of my Gerbera Daisies after our rain storm.

I just love these flowers and they always do so well for me!

And here is another daisy type flower called a Gazania

They come in all different colors!

On Sunday Hubby and I went on a motorcycle ride along the Mississippi River and found several families of geese!

It was so hot that day, 93ยบ! All the geese were sitting in the shade.

And I captured this sweet shot of one of the goslings!! Isn't he so cute!

And today I found juvenile mourning dove sitting on the railing of our deck. He was eyeing the bird feeder above.

Haven't been doing to much sewing lately because I've been working on a new project for my new photography etsy shop, Red Oak Images

Glass Tile Photo Pendants made with my photos!!!

This is what I've made so far and have more in the works to be listed in a week or so.

I'll be having some primitive pendants too!!!

I must get to bed now...I've been sleeping a little better lately. Still wake up with those darn hot flashes!!! grrrrr

Sleep

Another sleepless night....Here it is 2:44 a.m. and I've been awake since 1:11. So what do you do when you are laying in bed listening to your cat at the foot of the bed snoring...get up and blog. I've been feeling bad about neglecting my blog. It's been a couple of weeks. Sometimes I feel like nobody cares what I have to say anyway. I'm not very good with words so that is why I post more pictures then words. Now my snoring kitty is sitting in my lap purring as I type. I woke him up.

Bonsai my constant companion. I think he is the most photogenic of all my cats.

Then when I''m laying in bed trying to go to sleep I start thinking about how much I miss my grandchildren who live 12 hours away in N.C. I haven't seen them since March when we met up with them in Chicago.

I love this picture of them that my daughter took. Max loves his big sister Cora. He is enjoying his asparagus here while big sis is putting her shoes on him.

The main reason for not blogging is I've been so busy planting flowers. We've been having some of the most perfect weather and when that happens, I'm outside!! Haven't been feeling much like sewing either. I'm always to tired to sew after all the gardening stuff.

My Clematis were just beautiful this year. They are almost done blooming.

One of my gardening friends

Sitting in one of my big pots that has weeds growing in it. I'm still looking for red and pink impatiens that I usually plant in them.

He's cleaning up the seeds the birds spill from the bird feeders.

And the hummers have been here for about 3 weeks now. Isn't this little gal just gorgeous! Still trying to capture a shot of the male hummer.

Well it's 3:30 now and I guess I should try to get some sleep. I think I'm going to need a nap this afternoon.

Happy Monday!!!

Nature at it's Best!

This week I'v been doing a little gardening after having so much rain lately around here! Here's a few of my succulent prim container gardens! Just can't get enough of these little plants! All of these containers I got a the antique mall.

Saturday I spent the whole day with my sister! Had the best time with her at the Quad City Botanical Center! Enjoy the photos below of our visit!

After the Botanical Center we decided to stop at Prospect Park to see what we could find.

Wildflowers

Beautiful fountain in the center of the pond.

Walking back to the car, a cabbage moth wanted it's picture taken on a dandelion.

After our trip to Prospect Park went back to Sis's house and hung out till sunset to try to get a shot of the super full moon. As soon as the sun starting setting the clouds started rolling in. So we didn't really get a very good shot of the moon. Here is what I got. Not to happy with the way it turned out.

So that was my fun filled day of photography with my Sister!! I really hope we can do it again real soon!

Sunday I was able to get a few new items listed in my etsy shop!

The spindles that the crow's are on I got at the Red Barn Sale last year. Finally figured out what to do with them!

All About The Rust!

If you are a primitive lover like I am, you like rust right? So last week, got to thinking it would be cool to have a theme and then just run with it! Rust it is! At first I thought, I'm not sure if we have that much rust around here. Surprisingly I did find plenty! So here is my collection from all around my home!

This first one is my favorite!!!

I know this Robin isn't rusty, but his breast sure is the perfect color of Rust!

I'm working on a couple new projects, so be on the lookout for a new post about that!!
