Primitive Winter Snowmen and Trees

Happy Saturday Friends! How is your holiday decorating coming along? Started decorating last weekend. Took a couple of days. Now on to getting my Christmas shopping done.

I added a couple new Winter primitive goodies in my Etsy shop!

These trees were made from a old vintage lace tablecloth. Perfect size for a shelf or your fireplace mantel. I just love the wooden textile bobbins for the trunks!

I also added a tiny silver and white trim around the tree. Just a little bit of sparkle. Notice the decorative edge of the table cloth I placed at the base of the tree.

And I have a few of these snowmen that I make every year! I think the tree and the snowman make a nice couple!

Here is the link to see these and other goodies I have listed in my etsy shop >>> Rock River Stitches

This rabbit image is my new favorite! Caught it right in the middle of cleaning it's face. I think it looks like it's praying. So Cute!

Would be so precious on a shelf in a Baby Nursery Room!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Fall is starting to Show

Hello my friends! Super super busy, I have been! Pumpkins, Black Cats, Bats and Crows have been part of my working days.

I've been having a great time creating these Pumpkins. It seems the grey blue pumpkins are very popular again this year!

The Pumpkin in the front has sold, but I still have the blue grey one in the back still available in my etsy shop here Rock River Stitches

I always make a few of my Big Ole Crow Make Do this time of the year!

And this Angel Kitty is sure to make you smile. She is available in my Etsy as well.

My Hummingbird feeders are very busy this time of the year! They are filling up for the big trip south for the winter. Here is a juvenile male sitting in a branch by the feeder.

Hope everyone is have wonderful cool temps like us.

I must get back to working on a few orders now. So until next time! Peace and Love to All!

Primitive Halloween Goodness!

Hello my friends! I've been oh so busy lately! August is always crazy with the beginning of Halloween shopping and creating!

I do have a perfectly prim Halloween Cat Doll for sale on ebay. The auction ends tonight for her.
She is 21" tall and made of stained and painted osnaburg fabric. Her dress fabric, I hand made with little stars and bats.

Stop by my ebay if you are so inclinded!

Over on my Etsy Shop,  I have a new pattern!!

I've been selling out of the banners as fast as I can make them! Should have two more banners available by the end of today! Hopefully!

And I just have to show you the most precious fawns we have had in our yard lately!

Love seeing these little cuties every summer! They are attracted to the apple trees in my neighbors backyard. There are tons of apples that fall to the ground. So it's like a banquet for them!

That's all for now. Need to get back to work on those banners if I want to get them listed!

Peace and Love to All !

Don't forget to follow me on Facebook and Instagram. I tend to post more updates as to what I am doing on those more than on my blog. You can find the links on the right hand column to follow me.

Went to visit daughter and her hubby a week ago in Des Moines. Love traveling through the middle of Iowa. Nothing but farmland. I like to play with my camera while riding down the interstate. Sometimes I can get a great photo like this one! Love the horizontal and vertical lines.

It was just a pretty day! A little overcast but that's OK. Can get some amazing cloud contrast that way.

So until next time....Peace and Love to all!

~Staying Warm~

So Cold....I haven't been out of the house probably in a week. Nice now that hubby is retired he does all my running around for me!! But I must venture out today as I need to stop in Hobby Lobby and Hancock Fabrics.

I've been super busy creating lately and have many new items available in my Etsy Shop! All are available here Rock River Stitches

Love this sweet puppy. He is made with a pattern by Betty of Square Nail's Primitives

And I have another one of my Prim Standing Bunny Dolls available!!

And more of these great Grungy Primitive Heart Wall Hangings. Not just for Valentines day. Great through out the year.

Thought I would take a little time for myself now. Over the years I've found these Sew It Yourself vintage kits and thought I would make them up for myself. Especially wanted to get the bunny done for my Easter decorating!

Until next time....Let's hope it starts to warm up soon!

Stitching Away

I'm always happy to see the end of January! Days are getting longer and Spring is that much closer. We have been very fortunate with a very mild winter. Just a few days here and there with extreme cold temps. And not a whole lot of snow. (knock on wood!)

New ideas have been coming at me right and left in my sewing world!

Here are a few new primitive creations. I'm trying to concentrate more on Easter now.

Available in my Etsy Shop here ----> Rock River Stitches

Leaving you now with this sweet photo I captured a couple of weeks ago of one of the cutest birds that comes to my feeders.

Tufted Titmouse

Love that little bit of rusty colored feathers under it's wings. So pretty!

Gardening Time!

Yes...I'm still alive. Can't believe how long it's been since I last posted. Now that the weather has warmed up I've been pretty busy in the yard with clean up, weeding and planting flowers. I'm so excited that I will have a vegetable garden this year!! My next door neighbor has offered to share his garden space with me. It's about a 25ft X 25ft space by his garage where he usually plants all tomatoes.

Saturday planted my green beans, carrots and Kale and potatoes. And yesterday planted my Better Boy tomato plant, 4 Green Bell Pepper plants and a Cilantro plant. I love making homemade Guacamole!!

Should be interesting to see how my garden grows. Just have to worry about the wildlife eating it all up. We have many rabbits and deer. Any tips on keeps these critters away, leave me a comment. :)

I did manage to make one of my owl orines last week and got it listed in my Rock River Stitches Etsy Shop

I plan to get a few more Owl's made along with some other critters. My primitive shop is suffering since I've been trying to get my photography etsy shop going.

Here is something brand new I'm working on in my Red Oak Images Etsy Shop.

This cute little coin purse is made with fabric that was printed with a photo image I took of the Cone Flowers that grow in my garden.

I'm expecting more fabric later this week so I can add more of these adorable fine art photography coin purses.

Just have to show you what happened in the wonderful world of wildlife around my house a couple of weeks ago. I had been seeing this female turkey walking all over our neighborhood for about a week. One evening I walked into our living room and there she was sitting on our deck! I was shocked to see this huge bird sitting there! Pepper my cat was very interested in her and kept pawing and meowing at her. Didn't even scare her away. I think she was very amused with Pepper! LOL It was so funny!

She was very pretty if you looked at her close up. Had beautiful feathers! She sat on our deck for about 10 minutes preening her feathers. I haven't seen her since then.

Well that's it for now and I will try to post more often. Have a wonderful Tuesday!
