Spring Like Weather

We have been having the most beautiful weather for a week now! Plenty of sun and 70 degree temps! I love it! Even walked a mile yesterday.

I have a few new goodies in my Etsy Shop at Rock River Stitches

Just recently started doing Punch Needle! I absolutely love it!

These two heart wall hangings are made with my own original pattern. And they are available to purchase in my etsy shop! Rock River Stitches

I do have plans for a couple more of these hearts soon!

I also had a request for a bunny doll from a pattern I made several years ago. So made up one for the order and another to the public.

Here she is

I had forgotten how fun this gal was to make. I have a pattern available for her at Pattern Mart (look under my name Rock River Stitches) and my etsy shop.

Carolina Wren

Such a sweet bird!

Peace and Love to All

Stitching Away

I'm always happy to see the end of January! Days are getting longer and Spring is that much closer. We have been very fortunate with a very mild winter. Just a few days here and there with extreme cold temps. And not a whole lot of snow. (knock on wood!)

New ideas have been coming at me right and left in my sewing world!

Here are a few new primitive creations. I'm trying to concentrate more on Easter now.

Available in my Etsy Shop here ----> Rock River Stitches

Leaving you now with this sweet photo I captured a couple of weeks ago of one of the cutest birds that comes to my feeders.

Tufted Titmouse

Love that little bit of rusty colored feathers under it's wings. So pretty!

I have 3 more of my Fine Art Photo Coin Purses listed in my Red Oak Images Etsy Shop!

These are so perfect for a Graduation gift, Birthday or even Bridesmaid gifts. And never too early to get started on your Christmas Shopping! Eeeks...Don't even want to think about that. LOL

I plan get be adding more of these sweet little purses as I get the fabric printed. You can find them here in my etsy shop ----> Etsy

Oh and have a new phone case now for all those Vintage Button Collectors and Ball Jar Lovers!

My cases come in all the iphones and Samsung Galaxy versions. I offer the Slim Case and the Tough Case which is very popular. Nice soft rubber around the inside of the case. Great for the person who is always dropping their phone! I have the tough case on my phone and LOVE it!

And in the Bird World around my house...I am so happy to see these Goldfinches with their bright yellow feathers now!

And a couple of weeks ago the Baltimore Orioles were here for just 4 short days. That's about how long they stay. They sure did gobble up my oranges, grape jelly and nectar!

Two of the most colorful birds around!!!!

Gardening Time!

Yes...I'm still alive. Can't believe how long it's been since I last posted. Now that the weather has warmed up I've been pretty busy in the yard with clean up, weeding and planting flowers. I'm so excited that I will have a vegetable garden this year!! My next door neighbor has offered to share his garden space with me. It's about a 25ft X 25ft space by his garage where he usually plants all tomatoes.

Saturday planted my green beans, carrots and Kale and potatoes. And yesterday planted my Better Boy tomato plant, 4 Green Bell Pepper plants and a Cilantro plant. I love making homemade Guacamole!!

Should be interesting to see how my garden grows. Just have to worry about the wildlife eating it all up. We have many rabbits and deer. Any tips on keeps these critters away, leave me a comment. :)

I did manage to make one of my owl orines last week and got it listed in my Rock River Stitches Etsy Shop

I plan to get a few more Owl's made along with some other critters. My primitive shop is suffering since I've been trying to get my photography etsy shop going.

Here is something brand new I'm working on in my Red Oak Images Etsy Shop.

This cute little coin purse is made with fabric that was printed with a photo image I took of the Cone Flowers that grow in my garden.

I'm expecting more fabric later this week so I can add more of these adorable fine art photography coin purses.

Just have to show you what happened in the wonderful world of wildlife around my house a couple of weeks ago. I had been seeing this female turkey walking all over our neighborhood for about a week. One evening I walked into our living room and there she was sitting on our deck! I was shocked to see this huge bird sitting there! Pepper my cat was very interested in her and kept pawing and meowing at her. Didn't even scare her away. I think she was very amused with Pepper! LOL It was so funny!

She was very pretty if you looked at her close up. Had beautiful feathers! She sat on our deck for about 10 minutes preening her feathers. I haven't seen her since then.

Well that's it for now and I will try to post more often. Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Time to Relax!

Hope all my blogging friends had a joyful Christmas!! It was a quiet one for us. Glad to have all the hustle and bustle behind me. Now I can just sit, relax and do nothing if I wish!

I've had limited time to take any photos lately, but did manage to get a amazing photo of one of the deer that regularly visit my backyard a few days before Christmas. It was the morning after we had a over night snowfall.

Love the snow on her head from the night before.

Love these Red Bellied Woodpeckers that come to my feeder.

I have a big collection of Vintage Ball Glass Jars on the glass shelf in my kitchen window. This year I decided to buy some battery powered rice lights and put them in a few of my jars. I think they look spectacular at night. Like a jar of fireflies!

I will slowly get back to creating again for my Etsy Shop. I'm thinking of making a few of my coin purses for Valentines day.

Primitive Squirrels!

I've finally gotten some time to sew after getting my flower garden in! I have a few new items newly listed in my etsy shop!

These sweet primitive squirrels can be seen here --->Rock River Stitches etsy shop
I just had to make one squirrel black like what we have around here. They are my favorites!

And another new item!!! I just love making these big crows!!

You can see this guy in my etsy shop too!

Almost forgot another new item I made last week!

If you are a follower of my blog, you know that I live in a residential area that has a over population of deer. A couple of weeks ago saw a Momma and baby walking through my backyard. The baby had to be no more then a couple of days old.

I had to hurry and get the shot as they were walking fast! Excuse the blur of one of my flower pots on the left of the photo.

Mom was walking pretty fast and this little one was having a hard time keeping up! It laid down one time in my neighbors front yard before crossing the street. I held my breathe as the little one crossed the street over to mom who was quite a ways ahead of it.

And the birds have been busy in my yard raising families!

Chickadee with lunch for it's young!

Cleaning up after the kids!

House Wren busy building a nest!

Wishing everyone a Happy Weekend!!

Back Up and Running!

I was without a computer for a few days. Mine took a dump on Monday morning with the death blue screen. Got it into the shop Monday night and got it back late this morning. Thank goodness it wasn't anything serious like a virus or anything else. Just had to replace the WiFi thingy on it.
While I didn't have my computer to waste time on I did manage to work on orders and take more pictures of wildlife in my yard.

White-Crowned Sparrow. Love these little guys with their black and white Mohawk

Another pic of him.

I've been getting loads of American Goldfinches!!! I had hubby attach another shepards hook onto the one I already had. So now I have 3 feeders and more goldfinches!

Just can't resist taking pictures of Mr. Cardinal in our big oak tree.

I hung up all my hummingbird feeders on Saturday and noticed them at my feeder on Monday. This is a male ruby throated hummer. The males always arrive 1 to 2 weeks before the females do.

 Plump I think Mrs. Robin

All my feeders!

Mr. American Goldfinch

This was so funny. I was taking pics of the birds when this squirrel found a patch of sun on the deck and stretched out and laid like that for a few minutes. He almost closed his eyes and took a nap.

White-Crowned Sparrow

And last but not least, my half tail squirrel, Lucy!!!

And tonight my primitive chippy paint bird make do that I listed a week ago ends tonight on ebay. I will be listing these 2 new birds tonight on ebay.

Have a wonderful evening!!!!

Happy Easter!

At last we have a day without rain!!! It's a bright beautiful sunny day, a little windy, but that is ok with me!

Just wanted to wish all my blogging friends a Happy Easter! Will be very busy all day tomorrow with family.

Here is a picture of my grandson Max with his bunny ears that my daughter posted on facebook. When I first saw it I couldn't help but laugh out loud. He doesn't look very happy about the situation. He tends to make that scowl look in other pictures too. But he is a very happy baby though.

Took a little walk around my yard on this nice sunny day and found these wild violets growing in my flower bed. They tend to pop up just anywhere.

And my hosta are growing fast now with all the rain we have been getting.

And here is Pepper taking a snooze with Mrs. Bunny in the doll crib today. He's my 20 pounder kitty.

Ok, It's time to get back to sewing. Have a wonder Easter!!!!
