I'm sure a lot of you have heard about the Mid West being flooded and that's where I'm at! I live in the northwest part of Illinois called the Quad Cities. It's right on the Iowa/Illinois border. Today I drove over to Davenport, the Iowa side, and walked up Centennial Bridge and got some amazing pictures!! The river crest yesterday at 21.5 feet and very slowly going down today. It's the 5th highest in history for our area. This is the second flood this year. We had one a couple of months ago in April which got up to, I think 16 feet.I made a slideshow of the pictures I took today if you want to take a look. Click on the link below. Enjoy the show!

Your pictures are absolutely amazing! I know of some nuclear plants in your area, so I hope they are OK. My thoughts and prayers are with those who are getting hurt by all the flooding.
ReplyDeleteDonna, The nuclear plant is ok in Cordova. I've never heard of them having any flooding problems when this area does get flooded. Yes, my thoughts and prayers are with those that have been flooded out too.
ReplyDeleteHi Tammi, I just got home from Illinois yesterday. I was there for three weeks visiting my daughter and sisters. We drove as far as we could to Gulfport which was not much past the Gladstone turnoff. I was stunned to say the least. Then we drove on into Oquawka and had lunch at the diner. Man this flood takes the cake for as long as I lived in that area had never seen such a devistating event.
ReplyDeleteI am back in my dry desert now but will be back in Illinois in late August. We saw a lot of deer too!! I think the water has driven then east....
Blessings to you.
