It's Time for the Hummingbirds!

I've been closely watching the hummingbird migration map and it looks like they are starting to pop up in our area. So today I hung up my hummer feeder. There's no hummer in my picture over there, but hope to see one soon. I've had several feeders and this one is one of the best. What's so good about it is you can take it apart to clean the inside of it unlike other feeder where you have problems with getting rid of the mold. You can even put it in the dish washer! Here's the website to purchase one of these feeders. http://www.drjbs.com/

And here is a link to the hummingbird migration map. Check it out! http://www.hummingbirds.net/map.html

Did a little bit of exploring today around my yard to see if anything was blooming yet and found this one little daffodil and my bleeding hearts are just getting ready to bloom. They are one of my favorite spring time bloomers.

  1. Lucky you! We don't get hummingbirds here at home but I share your happinesss. We have parrots and cockies come to our feeders and they break them all the time, naughty birds, they pull things apart with their beaks! I am contemplating getting a flat tray feeder as it is the only thing they can't break.

  2. I have my feeder up too. Have had for a couple of weeks now, because they were spotted in my area. I usually see them around the 22nd. I can't wait!
Wow! My Bleeding Hearts are about half that size.

  3. We have so many things in common!! I've been watching that hummingbird migration map also and put my feeder out last week!! And my bleeding heart is about the same size and I've had daffodils and tulips for about 3 weeks. I'm in central Indiana.

  4. How sweet of you to feed the hummers. They tend to just skip our area in search of greener pastures...a few do come here and enjoy our trumpet vines and bird of paradise plants.

  5. I found a hummingbird feeder last year at GW then misplaced it, finally ran upon it in the basement so I'm already for this summer when I usually see some:)
