Happy May Day!

I'm always so happy when the month of May gets here! That means it's time to plant flowers! Around here everything is in bloom, all the trees and bushes are just beautiful. Captured a picture of an American Goldfinch today. They are such a pretty bright bird especially the the male. I always look forward to seeing them in the spring when they turn bright yellow. In the fall they are a very drab color. This morning it was another cloudy day like it has been all week. I was wondering if we were ever going to see the sun again. Sure enough it finally did come out later in the afternoon.

  1. It's been drab and dreary here too. He's like a little ray of sunshine though :)

  3. The little goldfinch was wearing the sun on his back! I love these little birds! Reminds me of the time that we rescued one of these little fellas and nursed him back to heath.

  5. Good morning!
I also love the early part of Spring (May)- everything is blooming here as well.
We finally got over our rain and gloom - had it for 3 days straight.
Very pretty birds I must say.

  6. I have a lot of wildlife where I live and one of my little critters is a bird with a reddish head to small to be a female cardinal. It has a small brown body but they very small birds overall. I bet you could tell what it was. I'll try to get a picture of it as I think they have a nest near my window.

Glad to see you follow me!
