We received about 6" of snow over night and its been snowing most of the day. Was up at 6 am by the sound of my next door neighbors snow blower going. Was still dark out. Made my hubbies lunch and filled up my window bird feeders before the birdies arrived for breakfast. Hubby yelled for me to come into the living room. There were 4 deer in our backyard right up by our deck. You could see they were snow covered. Ran upstairs to get my camera. Thought for sure they would be gone when I got back downstairs. Nope they were still there. Changed my lens to my telephoto and took as many pictures as I could. They are kind of dark as it still wasn't all the way light out.
So that was my excitement for the day. Kept busy most of the day working on another Valentine Heart Door Hanger. Hope to have it done to list on etsy tomorrow.
I am so amazed at how close you are to the deer to take pictures! I have NEVER seen any this close!
ReplyDeleteOh what wonderful photos,I just love having deer visit my yard. Hope the snow ends soon!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! They were really close to the house too!
ReplyDeleteHi! The birds and squirrels must have told them that you have "free food"...so they thought they would come and find some too! lol! How wonderful to have the deer so close to your house. Wonderful photos and thank you for sharing them with us. Take Care and God Bless! Donna, gmills4@suddenlink.net

Love your deer pics! Just tonight we had a herd of 7 come to our backyard. They were so close - maybe 10 feet from my backdoor. All babies and does. Then, to my amazement, another larger herd came and joined them, and they all went off together. The fawns love to romp & jump & play together, it is so cute... I took some pics, but they are still in the camera!

Great photos! I am always amazed at their beauty ... And how close they will come when they are hungry ...
ReplyDeleteWhen I buy feed for the sheep I always buy a bag of shelled corn for the deer ...
The wildlife here is a big past time in the winter ... Stay warm!
Aren't they beautiful, especially with the dusting of snow! It's interesting how they were all keeping so close together. I guess there's safety in numbers!
