Front Page of Etsy!

I just discovered that I was on the front page of Etsy! If you know anything about etsy, this is a really big thing when it happens to you. I've been with etsy for almost 2 years and it took that long for me. Some people are on the front page all the time. Being on the front page gives you a little more exposure to your shop. And the day that I was on was the day of my dad's funeral. Well I'm just glad I finally made it. You can see my white folk art bird that's at the top right hand side.

Oh....Happy Valentines Day Everyone!! Hope its a good one for you!

New Things!

I had a pretty productive day today! Didn't have to babysit so I got tons done. This morning I worked on finishing up a new pattern, got some laundry done, vacuumed and finished up Mr. Jack Rabbit. So I have a new pattern for my mouse pocket peg ornie and my rabbit doll, which are in my etsy shop now! woo hoo, wish I could get that much done everyday.

New Folk Art Cats Pattern

Hey everybody! Got a new pattern made up today and just listed it on Patternmart.com. Will get it in my etsy shop and my website soon. I had a request to make a pattern for my angel kitty and thought that I would make one for both of my black cats that I recently made. So you get 2 kitty patterns for the price of one!! I have a link over on the right hand column for you to purchase it from Patternmart.

Primitive Folk Art Angel Cat

It was a pretty busy day for me today. Got some sewing done this morning and finished up my Angel Kitty. He's up for sale on my website if you want to check him out. Then in the afternoon took my mom to the doctor to get her results on her blood work she had done last week and get a refill on her medication. She's lost 10 pounds and her blood pressure is back down to normal. So she's in good shape now. Sure was a beautiful day Got up to 40º!! yippie! I saw a robin yesterday and just couldn't believe it! I think that is the earliest I have ever seen one. Maybe it's a sign that we will have a early spring. I do hope so!

More Eagles!!

So hubby and I took a drive to LeClaire Iowa, which is about 20 minutes from the Quad Cities to see the Eagles at Lock and Dam 14. There were a ton of people taking pictures. I'm sure it was because it was such a beautiful sunny day and in the mid 40's! It's about time we get some nice warm temps! At this place you could get closer to the eagles. I was below the trees they were sitting in and taking the pics. Doing this today made me feel much better after my Dad passing away on Thursday. We made the funeral arrangements yesterday and that was not easy to do. My mom is having a really hard time with all this. Funeral is Monday. I will be glad when that day is over.

Bald Eagles

Everyday I drive over the Rock Island Arsenal bridge from Illinois into Iowa to babysit my granddaughter. I always see the eagles sitting in the trees and think I need to get some pictures of them. Well today since it was such a nice sunny day and not to cold, I got some pics. Wish I had a more powerful zoom lens to get some closer shots.

When the winter blues set in, it’s time to plan a trip to the Quad Cities for the yearly Bald Eagle Days and Bald Eagle Watch held each January along the Mississippi River. The Quad Cities, which sits on the banks of the Mississippi River, is made up of the cities of Davenport and Bettendorf in Iowa, and Moline, East Moline and Rock Island in Illinois.

Each year, from mid-December through February the Quad Cities area serves host to a large majority of Bald Eagles making their annual southern migration from Canada to the unfrozen waters of the Mississippi River.

Live Kitten Webcam

Found this webcam today. It's from the Los Angeles Animal Care Center. They are 5 week old kittens. They sure are fun to watch. Looks like they are snoozing right now. I was watching them earlier today and they were very active. Here's a link to the webcam. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/kitty-cam-2

Cat's Meow!

Here's a new perfectly prim kitty I made up today. Just listed him in my etsy shop. Didn't have to babysit today so I got a lot of sewing done. Made up 3 more of my birds too. Some are listed on my website and others on my etsy.

Twitter Anyone?

Ok so everyone over in the etsy chat forums are talking about getting a twitter account. So I got one. Not exactly sure whats to become of it. Still finding my way around. I guess it kind of like facebook only less involved. You just post short sentences as to what you are up to. Here's a link to mine http://twitter.com/rockriverstitch

So I've decided not to do ebay anymore. I was really disappointed with my last two auctions and the fees and such. Now I'm concentrating on my etsy shop http://rockriverstitches.etsy.com/ and my website http://www.rockriverstitches.com/, like I should have been. Going to list this crow make do on etsy tonight. We are back in the deep freeze again the last couple of days. I am so ready for spring!!! But I know I got a ways to go.

Something New for Easter!

Happy Monday everyone on this Martin Luther King Day! Is everyone ready for the inauguration tomorrow? I know I am! I'm pretty excitied for this new president! At least we haven't been freezing to death lately. Been in the 20's and in the 30's later this week!! woo hoo! Well anyway, I finished up this really cool Easter pantry box! Click on my ebay button over to the right if you want to check out the auction.

Snow and more Snow

This is what we woke up to this morning, about 7" of new snow!

Just about the whole Quad Cities is shut down. Now the winds are picking up with gusts up to 30 mph. So I'm stuck inside today and thought I would take some pics of my birds.

I have 2 window feeders on my sewing room window that I just love watching while I am on the computer or sewing. Then out on my deck I have a couple feeders along with my suet feeder. I'm hopeing to get some nice pics of the woodpeckers on the suet feeder.

Another Primitive Mouse~

It was a good day to stay inside and create. I don't think it even got above 0º today. And it's going to get worse tonight. We are expecting 4" to 5" of snow after midnight into the morning. And then more bitter temps. So I finished up this make do today and just got it listed on ebay tonight. I think it turned out awesome! It's gonna be hard to let this one go.

Prim Valentine Mouse Pocket Peg Ornie

Hope everyone is having a good Monday night evening! We had some more snow today and now we have blizzard warning for tonight with 30+ mph winds!!! And the temp is going to be dropping too! Ohhhhh I do not like winter. Listed this cute little guy on ebay tonight. If you want to take a peek at him, just click on my ebay button over there to the right.

Primitive Vintage Valentine Heart Lock

Finished up this door hanger today and will get it listed on ebay tonight. So I thought I would give you a sneek preview! It was your typical January day here in northen Illinois. It was 7º this morning at 7:30. But at least we had a bright sunny day! :) Oh I'm yearning for those nice spring days already. But that won't be for awhile. :(

Primitive Valentine Heart Make Do's

I've listed my first items for 2009 on ebay tonight! Love the way they turned out! It's nice to get back to work after the holidays. I sure did need that much needed break.
