I mentioned a couple of days ago that I put up my hummingbird feeder last week and have had them at my feeder everyday. I found a pretty cool website where you see them migrating back for the summer. It's the Spring 2008 Migration of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds at http://www.hummingbirds.net/map.html
The picture at the left is not one that I took. I am still trying to get a picture with my camera.
I love hummingbirds....that's so cool.. Hope you can get a picture!
ReplyDeleteI really need to get my feeder out. If you are getting them I should be also.
ReplyDeleteOk..soon as I got off here this morning I made up the solution and filled the feeder. When I got home from church dh was very happy to announce our first hummer already paid a visit to the feeder! Need to get more sugar and prepare the other feeders. When they get thick we usually have hummingbird wars around the deck.
ReplyDeletei live in da UP and i am going to put my feeders out this week...it snowed yesterday! today it got into the high 40s but with the wind howling who knows how cold it is. i did sit outside watching the other birds for a couple hours today all bundled up. finally i just couldnt take it anymore, my feet are still cold. i want to plant my rose bushes ( i always plant in 5 gal planters, even in hawaii...that way i will be able to bring them inside in the fall). i really love it here, it is so different than living in the tropics but there are so many more birds and animals.
ReplyDeleteHi Tammy, I just put my feeder out this past week end. I thought I heard them out there last week and sure enough they were. I know they have been around in the valley for a while but up here on the mountain we have the same temps as you folks in the mid west.
ReplyDeleteI love the Hummers.... they are a hoot to watch.
