New Goodies for Sale!

Can't believe that it has been over a month since my last post!! I have a few new items to share with you. First off I have a new primitive crow coin purse that will be listed in my Rock River Stitches Etsy Shop tonight. Giving you a little sneak peak!!

I'm working on a couple more purses right now. Hope to have them listed soon. If you have any ideas in a type of coin purse that you would be interested in, post a comment and I'll see what I can do. I'm up for ideas!

Also in my other etsy shop Red Oak Images I have new heart shaped glass photo pendant necklaces!!

Here are a few I have listed among others right now.

And I would like to share a few photos I took in North Carolina while visiting my daughter and family.

These snow shots were taken one morning. Huge flakes fell for about a half hour. It was just beautiful! Then it warmed up and all of it melted away. The third shot is looking out my daughters living room window. Don't know if you can see the train going by. You can barely see it's headlight.

Then hubby and I ventured out to Lake Junaluska, which is down the road aways from my daughters house.

Lots of Ducks and Geese there.

I loved this goose! Thought it was beautifully marked!

These little birds were so cute!! They are American Coots. They weren't afraid of you at all.

I just couldn't get over how different and cute their little feet were! They swam just like ducks in the water.

And my daughter is lucky to have bluebirds around her house. Something I don't have.

Then my son in law took hubby and I to meet Tom MacDonald. He was on one of the American Picker's episodes. He and his family of 7 kids live in a old motel that they have fixed up. He finds and collects old motorcycles and parts. His kids help him sell the parts on ebay. Tom sold an old samurai outfit to Mike and Frank on the episode of American Pickers. Tom is a friend and patient of my son in law who is a chiropractor.  My hubby was so excited to meet this guy! Hubby loves motorcycles.

Tom on the left, Hubby on the right. Tom was a very interesting character for sure!! He had to show us his recording studio that he turned a couple of the motel rooms into. And he even played a recording of one of the songs that will be on his new album. Very interesting guy!

This is a photo of one of the old barns that is down the road from where my daughter lives.

Then on the way home in the car, I got bored and started taking pictures through the car window. I had no idea if they would turn out or not going 70mph. LOL But some of them did like these horses in the field in Kentucky.

And this old Barn.

So I guess that's about it for now. I promise I won't be a stranger for so long again.

America Pickers Weekend!!!

This weekend is American Pickers Weekend for us. I live just 25 minutes away from LeClaire, Iowa where the pickers are located. The town of LeClaire decided to have a weekend just for them once a year. Last year was the first time. This year I got to go! My daughter went along with me as hubby had to work. It was a pretty hot and humid day that's for sure! I think it would have been worse if the sun would have been out. Right now as I type this, at a little past 8 p.m. It's 81ยบ!! Ok...so you are saying...lets get to the pictures!

On our way down to the Mississippi river levee to see Danielle and Mike. Frank wasn't able to be at the event today. He was busy doing something else. Not sure what.

On the way, we walk past Mike's dog Ruby. I believe that is Mike's girlfriend with Ruby talking to some friends.

My daughter Becky standing next to the big picker truck!

Standing in the long line for the autographs and pictures. Danielle and Mike are under the white tent. It took us about 35 minutes to reach them. Not to bad I think.

While waiting in line the riverboat Twilight was giving rides up and down the Mississippi river playing calliope music. Pretty cool!

And here we are!! That's my daughter Becky next to Danielle and me over to the right.

Me in front of the picker truck

Danielle and Mike's autographs! Wish that Frank was there.

My t-shirt I got!!!!

Time to go check out some of the shops along downtown LeClaire. As you can see Becky sticking her tongue out at me as usual. :)

The one and only primitive shop in LeClaire called Primitive Cottage. Really nice things in there.

This is Miss Mousey that I got at the prim shop!

This band was pretty cool. They were called Old 57's and they played honkey tonk music. They were good!

Here's another shot of the band playing on the lawn of the Grasshoppers Gift shop.

Then we walked down to Antique Archaeology

Me standing with the car!!

Mike's VW that he sometimes drives around town.

Love this shot of the car!

Me inside Antique Archaeology!

So that was my day today! They have more stuff going on again tomorrow. I'm so glad the rain heald off today. Woo! Hoo!!
