New Primitive Coin Purses!

I have a few more coin purses for sale!! A few of them will be listed in my etsy shop tonight! These are so fun to make!! Click here to my shop---> Rock River Stitches

In other news.....On Thursday night we were to get this huge snowstorm. All the weathermen were so excited about it and then we only get 3 to 4 inches. There is a supposedly another biggie for Tuesday....We will see.

Well anyway on Friday I decided to build me a birdfeeder snowman!! I had seen this idea several years ago in a Birds and Blooms magazine and had kept the idea in my head for a long time. So I made a Snow Lady!!   The feeling making this snowman brought back wonderful memories when I was a kid. It was pure joy!! I had great fun creating her!

It wasn't more then 2 minutes after I came in the house...There was Mrs. Cardinal!!

I knew the squirrels would be by next. They showed up a couple of hours later!!!

The squirrels did a number on the sunflower seed. They cleaned her out! As usual :)

And captured this shot of this Carolina Wren! They LOVE my homemade suet!

I get a pair of them every morning. They are always the first birds to show up just after the sun comes up. I believe these birds are the cutest!!!

New Goodies for Sale!

Can't believe that it has been over a month since my last post!! I have a few new items to share with you. First off I have a new primitive crow coin purse that will be listed in my Rock River Stitches Etsy Shop tonight. Giving you a little sneak peak!!

I'm working on a couple more purses right now. Hope to have them listed soon. If you have any ideas in a type of coin purse that you would be interested in, post a comment and I'll see what I can do. I'm up for ideas!

Also in my other etsy shop Red Oak Images I have new heart shaped glass photo pendant necklaces!!

Here are a few I have listed among others right now.

And I would like to share a few photos I took in North Carolina while visiting my daughter and family.

These snow shots were taken one morning. Huge flakes fell for about a half hour. It was just beautiful! Then it warmed up and all of it melted away. The third shot is looking out my daughters living room window. Don't know if you can see the train going by. You can barely see it's headlight.

Then hubby and I ventured out to Lake Junaluska, which is down the road aways from my daughters house.

Lots of Ducks and Geese there.

I loved this goose! Thought it was beautifully marked!

These little birds were so cute!! They are American Coots. They weren't afraid of you at all.

I just couldn't get over how different and cute their little feet were! They swam just like ducks in the water.

And my daughter is lucky to have bluebirds around her house. Something I don't have.

Then my son in law took hubby and I to meet Tom MacDonald. He was on one of the American Picker's episodes. He and his family of 7 kids live in a old motel that they have fixed up. He finds and collects old motorcycles and parts. His kids help him sell the parts on ebay. Tom sold an old samurai outfit to Mike and Frank on the episode of American Pickers. Tom is a friend and patient of my son in law who is a chiropractor.  My hubby was so excited to meet this guy! Hubby loves motorcycles.

Tom on the left, Hubby on the right. Tom was a very interesting character for sure!! He had to show us his recording studio that he turned a couple of the motel rooms into. And he even played a recording of one of the songs that will be on his new album. Very interesting guy!

This is a photo of one of the old barns that is down the road from where my daughter lives.

Then on the way home in the car, I got bored and started taking pictures through the car window. I had no idea if they would turn out or not going 70mph. LOL But some of them did like these horses in the field in Kentucky.

And this old Barn.

So I guess that's about it for now. I promise I won't be a stranger for so long again.

New Primitive Valentine Goodies!

I've managed to get a few new things created despite my on going neck problem. Still visiting my Chiro twice a week. Good thing I get free visits! My daughter is going to school at Palmer Chiropractic College which is about 10 minutes from my home. My chiro is a professor at the school and I get adjusted at the clinic which is part of the school. Family members adjustments are free the whole time that your family member is going to school. That means 3 years of free chiropractic care.

So anyway...here are a few things I have listed in my Rock River Stitches Etsy Shop.

I'm selling each one of these heart wall hangings separately. Click here ---> Heart Wall Hangings to see what I have for sale!

Also I have this wall hanging in my shop!

Last week I decided to go out looking for Bald Eagles as this time of the year we have hundreds of eagles that fly down from the north to stay for the winter. They fish out of the 2 big rivers that we have, the Mississippi River and the Rock River. I never get tired of seeing these magnificent birds when I'm out and about driving around the quad cities.

I shot this photo standing a little ways away and under the tree he was in. It was a windy day and you can see the wind "blowing through his hair" LOL It's always a memorable day for me when I can get a decent shot of one of these birds!

Still Here!

I know its been quite awhile since my last post. Got caught up with getting everything ready for Christmas and family arriving. Then I've had a setback with chronic neck pain since about Christmas Eve. I believe to much sewing did it. So I've been making trips to my chiropractor several times a week. I am slowly getting back to normal. Very frustrating to not be able to be in my normal creating mode. I can only do a little, then have to take a break with my ice pack on my neck.

I've managed to create a few new necklaces in my Red Oak Images etsy shop

I received a new camera lens from my sweet hubby for Christmas. I did manage to get some amazing shots before the problem with my neck happened.

This amazing buck was in mine and my next door neighbors yard for a whole afternoon chasing away another smaller buck from his girlfriend. Isn't he magnificent! It was the most amazing thing to see this happening in my yard! Over the past 5 years of seeing deer in our area, this was a first to see a couple of bucks! Surely made my day!!!!

Here he is about 6 feet away from me through our living room window. He was between our house and the neighbors house. You think we lived out in the country with how many deer we have. We live in a residential area!!! If you look close you can see a little bit of cracked corn stuck to this guy's nose. I had just put some out for him to eat. He loved it!

And here are a few bird pics I captured with my new lens.

Tufted Titmouse

Pair of Carolina Wrens

Female Northern Cardinal

Red - breasted Nuthatch

And can't forget my squirrels friends!

And my favorite Black Squirrel
