We had a wonderful visit with my daughter, son in law and grandchildren!!! Nice weather to boot! There is a neighbor below the hill from my daughter that has a interesting shed that is covered in some very prim items. I had to get a shot of this to show you all.
Look at all those rusty skillets!!
Here's a closer pic! Took this when I walked down to the end of the road to get my daughters mail out of their mailbox.
We made a trip to Asheville N.C. to The Grove Park Inn. It's a huge beautiful resort that I guess they shot a couple of scenes from the movie Dirty Dancing.
They were having a display of Gingerbread Houses
I couldn't believe some of these creations! Just gorgeous! I took these photos with my iphone so they aren't the greatest.
I think this would be so fun to be a part of something like this.
New Years Eve was awesome!!! I made a big pot of Chili and later had smore's around a big bonfire.
My son in law roasting a marshmallow
They live next door to a church. That's why there is a little blue cross in the background. It had gotten up into the 60's early that day. It was perfect!
My 11 month old grandson Max trying out his big sister's bike! Love this pic!
View from the front of my daughters house!
OK now back to reality!!! I've been working on a few new items for Valentines Day. So be sure to check back here in a couple of days.
That photo of little Max is just pure joy, isn't it! Love traveling through N.C. We came close to moving to Charlotte once--beautiful silver/blue city.

Beautiful place to visit and wonderful that you could be with your family. Max looks so cute on her bike, won't be long before he gets his own.

Nothing like the Carolina mountains, in any season! Each year I say I want to go and see the gingerbread competition but it's still on my bucket list. (Asheville is a good 9 hr. trip for us.) Thanks for sharing it with us. Sounds like you had a great trip.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely view from your daughter's home. I have never been to North Carolina, but would love to visit someday. Little Max is just adorable. Hope you are enjoying the New Year, looking forward to seeing your latest creative creations. Greetings from Maine, Julie.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter's house sure does have a spectacular view! Incredible! Glad you had a good trip and visit.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that Grove Park Inn something?! I remember the fireplaces are so big that you can walk into them! About 20 years ago, we got to stay there. Gosh, we need to go back sometime! The rooms have antique mission furniture in them. Our room was a bit small compared to today's standards. But it was magical nonetheless! Thanks for letting me relive the memories!
And little Max is too cute for words...
